Lagos, June 23, 2026 — Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State have called for stronger intergovernmental collaboration and increased investment in tourism development after a visit to the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort.
The visit was contained in a statement issued by Bukola Fortune-Omosola, Senior Communications Specialist at Glocient Hospitality, and made available in Lagos on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the tour was designed to assess the tourism potential of the facility and its capacity to drive job creation, community development and broader economic growth.
It also formed part of ongoing efforts to highlight how revitalised tourism assets can support subnational economic development across the country.
During the visit, the governors toured key attractions within the resort, including the warm and cold springs, which are known globally as a rare natural phenomenon where both water bodies flow side by side without mixing.
They also received briefings on the site’s historical background, geological features and cultural relevance.
The delegation further inspected upgraded facilities such as regenerated landscapes, recreational areas and the amphitheatre used for cultural performances.
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, described the transformation of the resort as a demonstration of how heritage conservation and modern hospitality development can be combined to create economic value.
He said the site reflects the successful preservation of natural assets while promoting sustainable tourism and development within the state.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, who visited the resort for the first time, attributed the transformation to targeted private sector investment and expressed interest in future collaboration.
He commended the scale of development, noting that it reflects what purposeful investment in tourism infrastructure can achieve.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, also commended the improvements at the facility, describing the transformation as evidence that tourism assets can be repositioned as strong drivers of economic growth.
He noted the progress achieved within a relatively short period and described the experience as impressive.
The statement added that the governors pledged to strengthen collaboration among states to harness tourism as a tool for job creation, community development and economic expansion.
They also encouraged subnational governments to explore and develop underutilised cultural and natural tourism assets.
It further noted that ongoing development at the resort is being driven by Glocient Hospitality under the leadership of its founder, Niyi John Olajide, with a focus on heritage preservation, improved visitor experience and sustainable tourism growth.
