Abuja is preparing to welcome thousands of worshippers and visitors as the 2026 edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) gets underway later this month, with renowned evangelist and General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, William Kumuyi, leading the programme.
The Federal Capital Territory Overseer of the church, Pastor Edison Daminabo, announced the event during a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Daminabo, the crusade, themed “Christ’s Wonder-Working Power,” has evolved from a local evangelistic programme into an international outreach that now attracts participants across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and Australia.
He recalled that Abuja hosted the crusade in 2021 before it expanded to different parts of Nigeria and subsequently gained wider international reach.
Daminabo described Kumuyi as a respected preacher and teacher whose ministry has touched lives through messages centred on salvation, healing and spiritual restoration.
He emphasised that while testimonies of healing, miracles and deliverance often accompany the crusade, its primary objective remains leading people to faith in Jesus Christ and the message of eternal life.
The cleric noted that many participants at previous editions had reported remarkable experiences and life-changing encounters during the gatherings.
The 2026 programme is scheduled to commence on June 24 at the church’s cathedral premises in Abuja. From June 26 onward, activities will move to the National Stadium to accommodate the large number of expected attendees.
In addition to the evening crusade sessions, the event will feature ministers’ meetings and youth-focused programmes. Organisers also plan to stream the crusade globally, allowing participants from different countries to join virtually.
Daminabo said Abuja was selected because of its strategic location and accessibility, making it an ideal venue for a large-scale international gathering.
He appealed to media organisations to support efforts to publicise the event, describing journalists as key partners in reaching the wider public.
According to him, the crusade seeks to inspire hope and spiritual renewal at a time when many people are grappling with economic difficulties, insecurity and other global challenges.
He added that the church remains committed to promoting peace, ethical values and national development through prayer and positive engagement with society and government institutions.
Daminabo further expressed confidence in God’s protection and guidance, noting that faith provides believers with courage and reassurance in difficult times.
He also pointed to the peaceful record of previous editions, which were conducted without major security incidents or safety concerns.
The church leader said this year’s gathering is expected to strengthen the ministry’s global outreach efforts while offering encouragement and spiritual upliftment to participants.
With an anticipated attendance of about 200,000 people from within and outside Nigeria, organisers believe the crusade will further reinforce its reputation as a major platform for evangelism, transformation and spiritual revival.
