Kaduna State has applauded its emergence as the third-best performing state in Nigeria in the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index (pSPI), describing the achievement as a strong endorsement of its ongoing governance reforms.
The state also earned an Excellent Four-Star Rating in the assessment, placing it among the nation’s leading performers across key development indicators.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, made this known in a statement released on Monday in Kaduna.
According to Maiyaki, the ranking highlights the results of the people-focused and reform-oriented policies being implemented under the administration of Gov. Uba Sani.
He explained that the evaluation recorded significant progress in areas such as governance, fiscal responsibility, economic growth, infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.
“This recognition is important because it is based on an independent and credible evaluation that combines objective performance metrics with feedback from citizens.
“It shows that Kaduna State is steadily advancing in institutional development, governance effectiveness, and the creation of opportunities for its residents,” he said.
Maiyaki noted that the latest recognition joins a series of independent assessments that have commended the state’s performance in recent years.
He recalled that Kaduna previously secured the top position in the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) published by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI).
He further stated that the state achieved the highest national score on the Control of Corruption Indicator.
The commissioner said the accolades reflect the positive outcomes of reforms and strategic investments across critical sectors of the economy.
“These achievements are encouraging because they indicate that our policies and programmes are delivering tangible outcomes.
“Nevertheless, we remain committed to enhancing the welfare of our people through inclusive growth, economic opportunities, efficient service delivery, and lasting peace,” he added.
Maiyaki reiterated the administration’s determination to promote transparency, prosperity, and sustainable development while strengthening Kaduna’s position as a competitive and investment-friendly state.
He also expressed appreciation to residents, development partners, traditional and religious leaders, civil society groups, and other stakeholders whose support has contributed to the state’s progress and development journey.
