Eid-el-Kabir: Ansar-Ud-Deen President Calls for Kindness, Compassion Among Nigerians

A leading Islamic organisation has called on Nigerians to embrace kindness, unity, and compassion as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The appeal was made by the National President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, in his Sallah message issued on Wednesday.

Kazeem urged especially privileged individuals to extend support to those in need, noting that acts of generosity and empathy are central to the spirit of the celebration.

He acknowledged the prevailing economic difficulties in the country, stressing that many households are currently struggling to meet basic needs amid rising living costs and uncertainty.

According to him, these realities call for greater compassion and a stronger sense of shared responsibility among citizens.

He noted that Eid-el-Kabir serves as a reminder of sacrifice, discipline, and selflessness, values that should guide personal conduct and national life.

The religious leader also emphasised that leaders in both public and private positions must remember that leadership is a trust that requires accountability and service to the people.

He cautioned against dishonesty, corruption, intolerance, and other behaviours that could weaken national unity and development.

Kazeem further urged parents and guardians to focus on raising children with strong moral values, discipline, and access to education.

Religious and community leaders, he said, also have a duty to promote peace, moderation, and mutual understanding across different groups in society.

He encouraged individuals who have been blessed with resources to use the festive period as an opportunity to support vulnerable members of their communities.

The cleric also called on Nigerians to avoid actions and attitudes that could deepen divisions, urging dialogue, tolerance, and cooperation instead of conflict.

He added that nations thrive when citizens work together in unity toward common goals and shared responsibilities.

Concluding his message, he extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, wishing them a peaceful and joyful celebration.
