On May 25, 2026 in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu extended congratulations to President Bola Tinubu following his selection as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag bearer for the 2027 general election.
Sanwo-Olu said the outcome of the APC presidential primary was a clear endorsement of Tinubu’s leadership and a sign of strong confidence from party members nationwide.
In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor also praised APC members for ensuring a calm and orderly conduct during the primary exercise.
He further commended the party’s leadership at both state and national levels, including the National Working Committee, for delivering what he described as a transparent and efficiently managed process.
According to him, the use of direct primaries reflected the party’s effort to deepen internal democracy by widening participation in candidate selection.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted Tinubu’s policy direction and reform agenda, noting that his administration had taken bold steps aimed at strengthening the economy and setting the country on a path of long-term stability and growth.
He expressed optimism that continued public support would sustain the administration’s development agenda and strengthen national progress in the years ahead.
