Insecurity: Ogun Police Tighten Security Measures Across State

The Ogun State Police Command has stepped up security operations across the state in a bid to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in Ota on Wednesday, noting that enhanced surveillance and patrols had been deployed to detect and prevent security threats.

He said the measures were being implemented under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni, with all tactical units, intelligence teams, surveillance operatives, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, and the Violent Crimes Response Unit fully mobilised.

According to him, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers have also been placed on high alert and directed to intensify visibility policing, intelligence gathering, strategic patrols, and monitoring of identified flashpoints, highways, border areas, and forest zones.

Babaseyi added that the School Protection Squad has been activated to strengthen security around schools and other learning environments across the state.

He further explained that the command is working closely with other security agencies, government stakeholders, and community-based groups to improve intelligence sharing, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities.

He reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while urging residents to stay alert and continue providing timely and useful information to security agencies.
