FRSC Reports Two Deaths in Kaduna Road Accident

Two people have been confirmed dead following a road traffic accident along the Kaduna Western Bypass, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The Kaduna Sector Commander, Andre Longkam, made the disclosure while speaking in Kaduna.

He explained that the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. near the Federal Eye Centre Junction and involved a DAF truck, a Honda car, and a motorcycle.

Preliminary reports indicated that the Honda vehicle collided with the motorcycle, leading to the death of both the rider and a passenger.

Longkam confirmed that the crash claimed two lives.

He further revealed that in the aftermath of the accident, angry youths at the scene set the affected vehicles on fire, resulting in further destruction.

Officials of the FRSC, working alongside the police, responded quickly to the situation, helping to control traffic and restore order in the area.

He noted that steps were taken to ease congestion and prevent additional incidents on the busy route.

The sector commander expressed concern over the development and urged motorists to drive carefully, particularly on roads undergoing construction.

He also advised road users to comply with traffic rules and avoid actions that could escalate emergencies.

Longkam added that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to improving road safety and preventing future tragedies
