ADC Says Newly Elected Executives to Assume Office After May 12

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has clarified that the tenure of its newly elected state executives and other party officials will not begin immediately after their election.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, explained that the new officers will only assume office after the expiration of the current executives’ tenure and their formal inauguration.

He noted that the swearing-in is scheduled for May 12 or any other date that may be officially communicated by the party.

The statement emphasised that all existing executives remain the legitimate office holders until the transition process is fully completed in line with the party’s constitution.

It also cautioned newly elected officials, especially at the state level, against taking actions or making representations that could create confusion or violate established procedures within the party structure.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline, order, and strict adherence to its constitutional guidelines and democratic principles.
