The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee has upheld a N4 million fine imposed on Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi.
This was contained in a statement signed by the committee’s secretary, Queen Otarakpo, on Wednesday in Bauchi.
the decision followed a protest by Wikki Tourists over sanctions imposed after their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match against Katsina United FC played on Feb. 8, 2026, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
The committee reached its decision after reviewing the protest lodged by the Bauchi-based club against the sanctions earlier imposed by the league body.
In its findings, the committee held that Wikki Tourists failed to provide adequate and effective security during the match, noting that unauthorised persons gained access to restricted areas after the first half.
It also established that supporters of the club threw dangerous objects, including stones, onto the field of play during the encounter.
According to the committee, the centre referee reported that he was struck by a stone during the incident but did not sustain any injury.
The committee further stated that there was no evidence to support claims that any match officials or members of the away team were injured.
It concluded that the conduct of the supporters was capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
Based on its findings, the committee upheld a N2 million fine against Wikki Tourists for failure to provide adequate security.
It also affirmed an additional N1 million fine for unsporting behaviour capable of tarnishing the image of the game and another N1 million fine for the throwing of dangerous objects onto the field of play.
However, the committee set aside two other sanctions earlier imposed under the league’s summary jurisdiction due to insufficient evidence.
It also reduced the earlier sanction directing the club to play all remaining home matches outside Bauchi to a five-match ban, to be served concurrently from the date of the sanction.
